Has to guard Dr. J 8 times a year. Too slow to play today. Could be a new meme IMO. |

Just think of some of the SF's Bird hard to guard at the time jus in the East. Prime Bernard King (pre injury), Dr. J, Wilkens, Pippen, etc. Damn. I am sure I am missing a lot of people too. |

People tend to overlook guys like Dennis Johnson, when they think of the Celtics of that era. I don't think Bird would have been as big a player, without guys like DJ dishing it to him to make those set shots. |

Cotton, you too are my ninja, but you have shit for brains in this regard. Bernard King gets schooled today too. Your argument for Birds success today can't be his success against other guys from his era. Dr J sits the bench in today's game, and that's assuming he even made a team. The guy could jump, that's it. He was heavily marketed by the NBA because of his flashy play.

Lil' Wayne - Bird and Stockton are my all-time fav players.gotta disagree, you dont averag 6 assists a game from the forward position and not be a very good passer. that means he always hit the open man and hit them in scoring position. kobe passes out the double team as well but kobe passes to guys where all they can do is pass back when he resets. bird hit guys when they were in position to score. and ou dont think bird couldn't guard guys like haslem or ibaka? spot shooter? in todays game you sag and allow the jumper bird would kill guys and force them to over play the jumper, something many of them have never done in their lives. bird would be a solid 15-20 point a night guy in the league today. |

It is successful though because it's getting a lot of others angry so well played. There is no way you could mean what you are saying. |

Nader is obviously a liberal that hates the idea that a white man can succeed in a black world. |

blacksamurai -he blocked a shot in help defense. 32 points says he didn't get stopped much. i think the fact that he does this night in and night out has some people jaded to the fact that you are seeing a very special playerpharochuck -Serge "iblaka" stopped him last night lol several timesjct71 - lol at laimbeer being too physical for lebron, sure alot more was let go back then but it goes both ways.who ever said that, wow, lol. i think a lot of guys just dont realize how strong a guy like lebron is. there's a reason that guys who are bigger then laimbeer was just bounce right off him. there is not a guy in the league period, not dwight howard or anyone who can physically stop lebron in the paint |

How many wing players average almost 2 blocks per game? Now try how many do that for their whole career? |

I could see a 5'11" guy getting 8+ boards and 2 blocks a game in the ABA/NBA. That seems realistic. |

You would think guys who played in the 80's where shooting set shots into a wicker basket in a league where the centers were 6'3" and you had to pass the ball 6 times to shoot, according to Nader. |

Larry for life! As corny as it sounds, he made his teammates better. Created opportunities for them. Was a very unselfish player but could also take control of the game when it was needed. |
