Kirkifan1 - anyone have pics of the new characters for season 3? i'd like to put faces to the names as i read storm of swords i don't know why, but I've always envisioned Ramsay as having cold sores and pimples. |

The guy (supposedly) playing Ramsey was on a decent British Show called Misfits, he's creepy as hell.

Omg, Mance Rayder looks absolutely nothing like I imagined him. I envisioned him quite a bit younger, skinnier and with long dark hair. |

They got Jojen and Meera perfect. I like the casting for Beric, Thoros and Blackfish as well. |

Im sure the costume department will make Mance look good, plus Ciaran is a great actor which is more important IMO. |

"Mance is a big man, long legged and lean, broad in the chest and shoulders. His once long brown hair is now gone mostly grey, laughter lines appear at the corner of his mouth. [1] He has a sharp face and shrewd brown eyes. [2] He is an unremarkable-looking man in his middle years, with a fondness for music." Is that a picture from the show or another one of his roles. I would like it if he grew his hair out, as that also fits how a wildling leader should look.

The picture of Ciaran is from a godawful movie he was in, John Carter, definitely not GOT. I think I read somewhere that he had grown out his hair. |

Zenoplata - +1. That's EXACTLY how imagined him too. Something like this: http://www.collecttolkien.com/images/Wallhangings/Wall%20Decal%20LOTR%20Aragorn%20Strider.jpg |

Yeah. The dude they got is kinda chubby. Maybe I envisioned Mance differently than his description just from the scope of his character. Most of the characters are perfect I have to say - obviously Ned and Tyrion being the best. I wonder if they'll ever do Rhaegar in a flashback or something. They skipped him in Dany's visit to the house of the undying. |

Mance is played by Ciaran Hinds who is a great actor (you may have recognize him as the FBI contact in the Miami Vice movie or the Russian President in The Sum Of All Fears). Whether he's what you pictured or not I'm betting he'll be great in the role. |

My theory is that I'm done with the series. Martin just jerks the reader around needlessly, uses 500 words where 5 would do, and makes me wait far too long between books. My patience has ended.

Zenoplata -They shot a flashback for the original pilot episode of when Ned's father and brother were killed by the Mad King. They decided not to include in when the shot season 1 (including reshooting episode 1) and have stated they will not do flashbacks (that could always change though).

My theory is that the TV series has been excellently cast. Agree?
