Explain. Why wouldn't those two be exactly where they are today if Biggy had lived?

There'd be no Kanye without Jay-Z, that's obvious enough. But Jay-Z only rose to popularity after Biggy and 2Pac died. People were clamoring for an icon and gobbled up the first decent artist with a big push.

demcat - It really is crazy how the brightest stars burn out quick. It's rare to get a Rolling Stones or i dunno I can't really think of anyone else. Think about this, if Bruce lee, jimmi Hendrix, bob marley and Jim Morrison were all alive they wouldn't even be old. Think how much more they could have created.

The fact that during the summer of 96 when the whole world was bad boy/death row jay dropped reasonable doubt on priority records, an album that everyone who heard it called it a classic meant jay with proper push 'def jam' could more than compete.
