Shakwon - Last time I checked no one was putting a gun to your head to make you buy Apple products. If you dont like their stuff, don't buy them, who cares what other people do. I know no one is putting a gun to my head. I just think the company is good at brainwashing people. I guess their marketing is excellent.... |

Went to the Apple Genius Bar today. Told the guy 'I need an 85 watt powersupply for my MacPro. He sold me a 60 Watt power supply for the MacPro Retina. I was almost out of the store before I checked and had to go back in and get another 'red shirt' and whine to him. The guy fixed me up in 2 minutes and apologized, but Dayum. They should rename it the 'Some of us are Apple Genius Store', LOL. I must have said it to him twice and bad on me for not reading closely what he handed me. I also went up to one of them and said 'I'd like to buy this MacPro 15"'. He said 'wait right here, we don't have anyone on point right now'. After 30 seconds I said 'OK, you must not need customers that bad, I'll come back some other time'. They had 25 guys in there roaming around and not one of them could help me ASAP, none of them could answer my questions (I also asked about the ports on a MacPro retina and the guy in the red shirt said 'Uh, I don't know what that port is'). /rant |

WidespreadPanic - a good friend of mine was a genius bar guy. they pay those people about $12-$14 and hour depending on the market and they DO NOT CARE what kind of technical knowlege they have. they care a.) how they'll fit into the "culture" of the store and b.) how willing they are to work for such an appallingly low amount of money to be incessantly hounded by annoying/naive/unwittingly demanding suburbanite apple cultists for the privilege of associating themselves with apple. tech experience is listed as a plus, only. so, i have to say, i'm not terribly surprised you had a rough time with them. don't get me wrong, a lot of folks apply for those jobs for whatever reason and the level of competition introduces a lot of truly capable people, but it's simply not a priority that they know anything besides precisely the kinds of things they'll be doing day-to-day to/for apple products. |

I just read that apple is now the minority phone market share holder in every continent except the USA? Is this true? I know in Asia apple is only like 19% market or something but I thought they were bigger in Europe and Australia etc... If this is the case op need not worry cause the US market must be the last stronghold, and eventually everything globalizes :-) Google for the win! :-)

pretty sure if you look at ios vs android, android surpassed ios a while back. apple's only #1 in any given smartphone market vs individual manufacturers. |
