If you ever had any doubts about how this dude will never take the blame for his actions, look at this bit from the ESPN article:

• A group of people connected to Tuiasosopo showed up at the team hotel, after curfew, for the Discover BCS National Championship Game in Miami. Te'o said he knew they were at the hotel because the group took photos in the hotel lobby. Someone in the group called Te'o, saying they were waiting for Kekua to join them in the lobby and asking if she was with him. Te'o then hung up. Te'o said it affected his play in the game, where Notre Dame lost to Alabama 42-14.

Yes, he is blaming his poor performance in the championship game on this!

Exactly like I said, The Samoan Mafia is behind the whole thing - that was them at the hotel rubbing salt in his wounds

LOL @ this! Manti's folks have given ESPN a spreadsheet of his phone records. No, not the actual phone records, but a spreadsheet they made.

ESPN reports that a "source close to Te'o" has produced the cell phone records. Sort of.

While the online story isn't clear, Mike Hill of SportsCenter has explained that the source didn't produce the actual phone records but spreadsheets based on the raw data. The spreadsheets show that, from May 11 through September 12, Te'o made more than 1,000 calls to a number in the 661 area code, where Lennay Kekua supposedly lived. Of the calls, 110 lasted for more than 60 minutes.

That's fine, but it's meaningless without the actual records. Te'o has claimed that he spent long stretches overnight on the phone with Kekua while she slept in a hospital bed. It doesn't matter if there are 110 calls of more than an hour in length if there isn't a single one that lasted, say, six hours. The report from ESPN doesn't say whether the spreadsheet sheds light on that point.

Put simply, producing anything other than the actual records serves only to raise more suspicions in a case that already has plenty of them.

The only way out of this latest maze created by Te'o's camp is to produce the records.

Lol we're in an age of skype etc yet this guy thought nothing of keeping a 4 year long relationship with someone he only had 1 picture of?

Kinds reminds me a story years and years ago about a guy who married an asian "woman", had sex in the dark etc and never discovered she was really a man. When pressed tho he did concede that on some level perhaps he really did know.

There had to be 50 warning signs that over the 4 years that Teo was being duped, that he was talking to a guy etc., but he chose to ignore them for a long length of time by any standard.

i dont think its gay but it does seem like that sometimes, i think its super religious, he seems like a "good boy", and i dont mean that as a bad thing necessarily, just that he seems naive and gullible because its his nature to believe people and be nice.

i think he is a knucklehead, i think he definitely made the relationship out to be more than it was, i think he blatantly lied about things.

but i dont think he was party to making the whole thing up.

i felt really bad for his parents watching the video of them being interviewed today, but compared to some other things you can go thru with your kid this is not that bad, they will recover just fine. its more embarassing than anything in the long run imo.

No. The only thing that's interesting is when someone will really put Te'o on the spot instead of that BS softball interview Couric did. No one seems to want to really press him on the fact that he totally embellished the relationship. I'd love to see the behind-closed-door pre-NFL draft interviews. They're going to skewer him.
