God dammit, five hours at the hospital to find out he was gassy. Projectile vomited all over me in lobby so I smelled like puke whole time. Saw people who didn't win their bar fights

You got off easy. My 8 month old had bronchiolitis and both ears infected. They gave him amoxicilin for the infection. The antibiotic took care of the infection but it cleaned out all of his good bacteria as well. Now he caught some virus and has been shitting water for a week.

MyUnclesCreepy -So you would rather not have had an ultrasound done on your one year old and take the chances to save a few bucks?Gritty - Waited three hours cause they wanted to give him ultrasound to make sure he didn't have some intestine issue kids that age getAnd that's y healthcare is so expensive

Been there with the water Shit for a week, once my eldest started daycare he came home with all manner of things in the first few months and the youngest 8 months old at the time copped everything. Had week long shitting twice and were extremely worried about dehydration as he would barely eat or drink anything. Nothing worse as a parent than seeing your kids suffer and being able to do nothing about it.

The ultrasound is to look for intussusception, which can present like your son did and can be a big deal if not promptly diagnosed. Glad he is ok, hope he feels better

My wife took him to regular doctor today. He had an ear infection which might have caused the whole thing. Doctor could not believe the hospital went as far as to give him an ultrasound but never checked his ears. Maine med is one of the biggest and highest rated hospitals in new England and it took a doctor at a suburban office to figure out the problem in ten minutes.

There is no excuse for a young child being seen in the ED with a fever and not having his ears checked.
