If you can't even win your conference you shouldn't go to the BCS title game. |

PoundforPound - If you can't even win your conference you shouldn't go to the BCS title game. Why? If OSU was in the SEC West they would have not have won their conference either. Alabama played the best team in the country dead even for 4 quarters. No one else came even remotely close to playing LSU tough, or Alabama for that matter. They both have proven over the course of a season that they are the two best teams in the country. Alabama would win any other conference in the country as well. Normally I could see this applying but this year is an exception because everyone has lost a game with the exception of LSU. Everyone had their shot and blew it in one way or another. Oklahoma State blew it when they lost to a 6-6 team that was a 3TD underdog on the road. |

Vegas oddsmakers have said that Alabama would still be favored by 2 points against LSU in the title game. Any other team will be over a 7 point underdog against them, which would be the highest point spread in BCS championship game history. Another thing everyone should look at is just how close Alabama and LSU are in comparison. Not only did they play even against each other they also played even against their 6 common opponents. Everyone agrees that LSU is #1 without a doubt but Alabama is clearly even as a football team so how could they be any lower than #2? Alabama vs LSU 9-6 in OT Alabama 38 - Arkansas 14 LSU 41 - Arkansas 17 Alabama 38 - Florida 10 LSU 41 - Florida 11 Alabama 52 - Ole Miss 7 LSU 52 - Ole Miss 3 Alabama 37 - Tennessee 6 LSU 38 - Tennessee 7 Alabama 42 - Auburn 14 LSU 45 - Auburn 10 Alabama 24 - Miss St 7 LSU 19 - Miss St 6 |

OSU getting into the title game would be no different than giving everyone a medal in little league sports. The BCS was designed to pit the two best teams in the national championship game and everyone knows Alabama and LSU are the two best teams. They would be favored in a head-to-head matchup against anyone else in the top 25 by a large margin. 5 Big-12 teams have played in the BCS CG since 2000 and all five have got their asses kicked. Do we really need to see this again to prove what we already know (the SEC is better). I would much rather see a competive game for all the marbles than see one team get run out of the stadium by half time. If OSU plays LSU they won't stop them on defense and LSU will shut their offense down just like every other year that the SEC's best play some "high powered" offense. It would be a one-sided blowout with no suspense whatsoever. |

Bama had a chance to beat LSU at HOME and blew it. In fact, Saban didn't even play to win. Now he's out there begging for a rematch...no thanks. Bama might be a better team than OSU, but we already saw that game. Give OSU a shot. |
