Was going to pick up a second hand game to play over the holidays... How do the 2 of these compare? IS the 2nd one bigger and longer single player campaign? |

I think there are some more maps in the second one, but only a couple. There is not a huge difference between the two, the 2nd one has more weapons, different characters and more special undead types. But they are both great fun. If you are only going to buy one I guess I would say get L4D2, but you might be able to find a special deal for both on Steam. |

Well L4D2 has more stuff and would be the one to get if you are only getting one. |

Cool thanks - I'll try pick up a 2nd hand copy. Its weird, this and Saints Row 2 seem to be still selling for the €20 mark. |

While none were "scary", left4dead 1 definitely felt more like a horror game. Personally I think it's because it's always dark, night time, little lighting, whereas in 2 you're out at daytime. I'd say get 1 though, imo it's the better game. |

They're both just as long I think. The single player and multiplayer are the same game - 4 people going through a level, it just replaces players with bots. The graphics are a bit better in 2, but the extra game modes are only available in multiplayer I think. You can shoot holes in zombies, and see their limbs fly off in 2 if that makes a difference :p |

L4D has more of a horror element. L4D2 has the melee weapons. Both are so similar. You should probably get the first one and see if you like it. Hopefully you have some friends you can play through the campaign with. It definitely makes it more fun. |

seriously ferox get the first one man. the 2nd one has chainsaws, true, but the maps are not as half as scary. honestly. the first 1 has some moments that will iliiterally make you shit your pants. the setting is just so much more dire, desolate, and unnerving. |

1 is better.. Loved the atmosphere better. Probably cause it was darker.

Can you buy 2nd hand copies of games like l4d? They come with a booklet which has their online code in that you can only use once? Better to get it off steam or something if you can. |

Yeah, second one has melee, Pipes, chainsaws, electric guitars etc. Makes all the difference. I don't even use the guns. Definitely second one.

I got into the Xbox late so its good picking up great 2nd hand games and not having to wait for the new stuff. Skyrim was the equivalent of $70 here. Fuck that. |

Yeah the forced co-op was famously crap in RE5. I'm not sure how it'll work in ORC, but I've read you're in a group of 5ish, and it's all about survival. If you take too many shots you start to bleed, which can be fatal, and makes you the prime target for all the infected. You can be bit and infected also, eventually losing control and attacking your team mates. |

When I ran across a witch in the first one I thought I would just blow right through her, I was wrong. Left them alone after that encounter. |
