where can you find a mad catz TE stick for $100?! i've been looking all over the web for one (ideally the white SF4 TE), but they are like $165 used on amazon. i'll probably end up snagging the evo '12 edition from them directly for ~150 |

hey, for learning the game and then carrying a character into more competitive online play or even local things, who would be a good fighter? i've been considering ken, e honda, sagat or zangief |

in my opinion zangief and sagat are probably the easiest of those fighters you've mentioned. Zangief especially if you can easily do 270 degrees really fast on your joystick for his SPD. Here's a good article that just came out about difficulty of characters: http://www.eventhubs.com/columns/2012/jul/24/step-your-game-chapter-7-super-street-fighter-4-arcade-edition-v2012-dedication-character-selection/ he says that ken is a beginner character but I think to be a really good ken is not easy, and most top level players have all abandoned Ken because he's just not as good as other characters. |

I wouldn't start as zangief though because he's probably the easiest character to win with at low level competition, he doesn't need fancy combos are even good defense to win, so you can basically get by without learning fundamental skills like link combos and blocking crossups playing as gief, which bites you in the butt later when you try to learn other characters. I know this because I started playing as gief haha. |

You have to keep an eye out for deals. MadCatz just had a sale on the SFxT sticks for $99. If you look on eBay you can find used TE sticks for under $100. I got my MvC3 TE stick for $65 used and everything works fine. As for beginning characters. I started using Ken. There's somewhat of a character loyalty going on there because I've used him since SF2 back in the day. I agree that Ken is a good character to start with, but he is pretty difficult to use at a high level. Ryu may be a better option if you want to go the Shoto route. I'm actually more comfortable with a defensive/zoning play style so I use Guile now. I'm pretty basic with him though as I don't have the time or patience to learn all the high level tricks with him. |

MadCatz brawl stick is $29.99 on Amazon right now. This is a good entry level stick if anyone is interested. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-WWE-Stars-Brawl-Stick/dp/B004M23RAC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1343773455&sr=8-2&keywords=wwe+brawl+stick |
