"(judo maybe relies on a gi too much for doing a job in security/bouncing" Most people at a bar are wearing clothes you could use to throw them. If you go to MFC, Garcia is pretty good at judo throws with no gi. I've seen him throw a few people hard in MMA. I would recommend going there. |

We offer BJJ and Muay Thai kickboxing (taught by a real Thai champion, Matee Jedeepitak)... www.warriorway.com is our temporary site and has our schedule and contact info on it. Bouncing and judo are pretty much incompatible, unless you want to wind up on the wrong end of a civil suit or worse. Learn some effective restraint and compliance techniques and you’ll be much better served. |

Yuor gonna probably laugh at this, but Hapkido(or Japanese jiujitsu) have some very effective control and restraining techniques, or standup grappling if you will. Royce's jiu jitsu self defense techniques are identical. I was in it for years and it has served me very well as a bouncer and as a police officer. Unfortunately, there is also a bunch of useless crap you gotta learn like jump spin hook kicks, reverse punches and such. |

yes. it's good to not practice any striking because you want to be totally clueless about reading a dude whose gonna throw at you. you don't want to practice striking cause your grappling skills will allow you to never get hit. plus, you wanna study krav maga. stephen |

I have trained there 18 yrs and there is no MMA. Saito is not a fan of MMA. He does recognise BJJ and the ground skills it brings since we have had some students with purple belt rank/skills. Great place to learn the basics of judo. Great kids class and juniors class. |
