I have often seen many people post on the underground forum that a fighter can be trained to improve his skills, but cannot be trained for to have "heart" if he does not have it naturally. Mma fighter Pete Spratt said in an old intervew that "you can teach someone how to fight but you can't teach them to be a fighter". Most of the fighters who have shown lack of "heart" do not seem to develop it as time goes on. However, those who do have it seem to possess it right from the start. An example is mma fighter Fujita. When he first came on the scene he showed little skill but had a alot of heart. In fact in his fights against Mark Kerr and Ken Shamrock, his opponents wore themselves out beating him up. Another good example would be Paul Varelans who fought in the early UFCs; he showed lttle skill but could take alot of punishment. What are your thoughs on this issue, Tony?
