Well its seems to me that Siddhartha (and Demian, which was better) are for young men. Steppenwolf seems to be meant for young men who are a bit older/ hmmm Siddhartha, J.K. and D. Lama are 100% grounded in spiritualism. I mention Steppenwolf because its not. Thus, the recommendation. This is no review of the book, only the impression I got when I read it, as I remember it now many years later. Steppenwolf involves the main character who is some kind of scholar (may we call him an empiricist ? rationalist ?). He begins having experiences which seem to indicate that perhaps the structures upon which his rationalism is based are a bit illusory. I don't know if there is a resolution to the dichotomy. He seems to be conflicted and that is the theme of the book. Very different than his other works, IMHO You have ignored this user.

I saw intense visions - visions of myself, my friends and family. In the end, though, it turned out that I had just fallen asleep, but it was very refreshing. You have ignored this user.
