What do you think of it? If you think that this is a sensible distinction then on which side do you fall (which side are you must interested in)? |

I think I prefer the analytical stuff. Not that I think you should rule out all continental stuff beforehand, but I wonder why their writing has to be so obscure, lol. |

What is the difference in them for you? As far as writing goes its analytic all the way - its the differences in content and topics and whether there are any anymore that i´m interested in? I. |

Analytic philosophy. I think the choice of topic in continental philosophy makes it often more a mix of bad sociology/political science/history and psychology than philosophy proper. I also think there writings aren´t usually concrete enough to be discussed properly. |

It is hard to read continental not just because of its innate and even purposeful obscurity, but most of it is translated from another language. I have read one Richard Rorty book "consequences of pragmatism" and I did enjoy it. |

"What is the difference in them for you?" the level of clarity I would say. |

The content in the contintal philosophy I have read seems to be directed towards more existential questions, with the author kind of saying that the world/ life is like this and that. Broader subjects in a way, or atleast that is my impression. Am I being very obscure and continental now? :-) |
