I have a BA. I have the job I've almost always wanted (porn star was too competitive.) I'm looking to get my Masters. This sounds cheesy but I've been looking at University of Phoenix online. My first impression of this is, "How can that education really be any good?" Then I thought about it more. What do I really care? The job I have doesn't really care if you're a Harvard grad or not (and let's face it, if I were, I wouldn't be doing this job.) Essentially it benefits me to have a Masters degree in Crim Justice/Admin if I want to advance to higher posts (Chief for example). So all I really need is that degree, from an accredited school. It could be "Gino's School of Crime" as long as it's accredited. So how do I find out if U of Phoenix online is properly accredited etc? |

Yea, I understand that, but the bottom line is, all I need is that piece of paper stating Masters Degree in such & such. I don't need the degree to promote, but it helps. Plus they may pay for it. |

U of phoenix doesn't have any reputation? I believe it is accreditted though. However if the school was going to pay for it why not go somewhere local as anywhere is better than U of phoenix as it has a reputation as a degree mill. |

That was my thought on it. Antifret, I wish I could go locally but I live in a place where literally nothing is nearby. It's 2 hours in every direction to get to a "city". |

How do I find the GOOD ones? I'm specifically looking for something in criminal justice or something that will help me advance in the law enforcement field. |

I have no idea why so many people seem to think that U of Phoenix is the only way to do online school. |

They have the best marketing. Anyway, one of the CUNY schools here in NY has a degree program and they're fully accredited. Plus, out of school students pay the same tuition as NYS residents if they do the online degree. -knee |
