Generally a couple will run off as soon as I open the door, a couple more when I step out. maybe one or two need to be pushed toward the exit. I actually like raccoons, I'm not out there practicing my slapshot. BTW, I don't know where you are located, but Raccoons in the north are gigantic compared to those in the south. They can cause a lot of damage just goofing around. Ive had the take down gutter leaders while trying to climb up. You have ignored this user.

I've never seen the raccoons in Kansas, but the winters get cold there, no? The colder the climate in winter, the larger the raccoons (and bears and deer and most species of mammal in North America) tend to be. More mass to surface area helps get them throught the cold. I've seen the raccons in Florida, the coastal Carolinas and Georgia, and they are like hamsters compared to the raccoons up here in NY. You have ignored this user.

I would suggest a good dog or two. Somehow we had a family of possums living in one of our trees near our back fence once. Well after about 3 weeks of our dogs bringing us "presents" every couple of days the possum problem was handled. You have ignored this user.
