I dont know if this technically belongs here, but then i figured you guys would probably be the ones to know this stuff: I have bought me a nice Taurus PT-111, joined a local gun club for range use, and signed up to take a concealed carry class on Saturday... The only problem I have found is that I CANT SHOOT FOR SH!T! I mean I really suck and I understand there is a qualifing half of the concealed carry class. I know it varies from state to state (TN here) but how well do I have to learn to shoot by Saturday? Thanks in advance, |

The CC practical test is firing from like 7 feet away. if you get it somewhere on the paper, I'm sure you'll pass. |

That is very true. The class is alot more about how you "handle" your gun as to how well you can place your shots. Just stay calm and relaz, I'm sure you will do much better that you think. |

If you can't shoot for shit in a relaxed enviroment like a shooting range, having to use your firearm in a stressful situation will result in bullets firing all over the damn place. I would suggest becoming skilled enough to put shots in a nice group before thinking of carrying your firearm to use for self protection. When I qualified, I had to fire from 5 yards, 7 yards, 15 yards and 25 yards. I was timed and shot from a low ready position and also by drawing then shooting. |
