Jorn Olsen took the pictures and works for the Dutton-Lainson Co. in Hastings, Nebraska, and lives by Heartwell Park next to Hastings College. The stadium lights are at the Hastings College stadium just east of his home. The clouds are called Mammatus clouds. They do not precede a tornado, or foretell a storm, but are formed when the air is already saturated with rain droplets and/or ice crystals and begins to sink. The worst of the storm is usually over when these kind of clouds are seen. They are quite rare, but really beautiful.

These next ones are called Nacreous Clouds, which glow brightly with vivid iridescent colours. They're also known as "Mother of Pearl Clouds".

I saw clouds like the first ones once. That was cool. Some of those are very scary-looking.

The coolest thing I have seen recently was twin waterspouts while I was fishing in Nevis a month or so ago. Got pics of them if someone can host it.

Amazing. The neatest non-deep sky thing that I've ever been able to see with my own eyes was a perfect lunar ring produced by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere.

Those are called "mammatocumulus", cumulus because they are dense, white, fluffy clouds with a flat base, a multiple rounded top, and a well-defined outline. Mammatus cause it comes from latin mammarius, meaning breasts.
