The fish are waking up now and starting to feed like crazy. Sorry about the pic quality, but I took most of these late in the day and the lighting was terrible so the pics are a little grainy. The new guys are schooling with the old guys and everything seems to be going well. Lilly pads are coming up and stuff...

i don't know if you've seen the site www.monsterfishkeepers.com ? its probably the best overall site for keeping large fish and has a huge DIY section. |

um, this isnt the most flattering time of year for the pond since its the Fall now. All of the flowers are out of bloom, and the greens are turning to browns. Ill try to scope out a good vantage point in the next few days and snap a pic or two. Thanks for the interest. In the meantime, do I have a pic of my (pup) dog's butt at the ponds edge: ..and one of her drunk

Haha, cool to see this thread, thanks :) Uh its early spring now so it doesnt look very nice. Nothing is really in bloom and Im trying to hire a landscape company to help me with the surroundings too. Im gone from home for the rest of the month so in few weeks Ill get some up here when everything is rolling (I hope :/ |

Things are starting to get going now. I woulda posted pics but my UV clarifier bulb in my filter is not working (1 month after warranty expiry), so the pond is a little murky. Once I get it fixe, Ill put up some more pics :) |

Ponds are awesome. My dad just had to fill his in because my parents are trying to sell the house and the realtor convinced them that it would sell better without it because people with young children would be scared away due to the possiblity of drowning. I think he should have let the new homeowners decide if they wanted it or not.

Yeah I can see the point. I know Im in this house for the next 5 years at least. When I move, I can apply what I know now to build a new pond. The next one is going to be insane. I dont give two shits about resale!! I think that for me, this pond provides so much relaxation and amusement. Theres nothing like falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall in the spring or fall when my bedroom window is open. Anyway, first nice day Ill snap some pics... :) |

Well its summer #3 now and things are starting to fill in. Crazy how quickly stuff grows. I will post more when I get more floating food and I can get the fish to the surface and also when the lilly opens. It is not in bloom right now but looks like it will be soon, I can see a new bulb coming up...
