Made 5 lbs of these things yesterday. I thought I was going to set the back yard on fire. The flare-ups on the grill are pretty severe. Good call on the bacon, C-dub. That's how I made 'em yesterday. |

Holy shit, I forgot to tell you, this was the first thing I made on my new Big Green Egg. I think I mentioned in the original thread that I made burgers, but I did use this recipe. Turned out perfect. |

I need to try other recipies from the same book. Some of them look downright scary. I'd say 20% of them call for Velveeta. LOL. |

Damn, it kinda sounds good or even great... 1/5th of the weight basically being sour cream kinda scares me though I love sourcream I love beef more. Anyway wanna cook and take photos? I'm in Japan so beef is huge expensive and I'm going to have to buy extra utensils for this one! |

I made these last week (I took pics, but I haven't had the chance to upload them yet) - I wasn't overly impressed. I'm not a fan of the meatloaf-tasting hamburgers, which is what this turned out to taste like. My family and I prefer our burger with just a little worcestershire and a pat of butter in the middle to keep it moist (I don't need the butter, since I like my burgers pretty rare). |

They're not for everyone. Getting rid of the crackers would probably help those who want to avoid the meatloaf texture. |

Made them at the weekend. Very nice. A bit messy on the grill and the flare-ups were something else. All in all very nice. Will try with bacon next time. |

I love burgers but am not really a fan of meatloaf, mayo or sour cream. I'm tempted to try it just for the promised flare-ups though. |

Oh I'll try the full-on recipe. I'm totally open to blowing away my preconceived notions, and I genuinely think it will be fun. No one on here has steered me wrong yet. |

The family and I just finished eating these today. I used a lot less Crackers and added cooked bacon to the mix. Came out awesome. Everyone in the family loved them. We never really make burgers on the grill though, so I can't really compare them to past grilled burgers, but comparing them to mom n' pop shops, In N Out and any other burger joint around here these burgers are #1. |
