Hunting and Fishing Ground >> Bay spots in Big pine/Sunshine key

Looking to see if any Keys guys can let me know some spots for Snook and Reds etc in Big Pine Key/ Bahia Honda state park. My friend has a place there but he fishes the Seven Mile bridge and bottom fishes the gulf only usually. |

I used to fish Big Pine Key a lot, but never for snook/red's and almost always on the ocean side. I know that doesn't help you, but I couldn't resist a thread about Big Pine Key. |

Yea we went on the gulf a couple weeks ago and did some bottom fishing. Groupers, Snappers, Cudas, Sharks a great weekend. Then of course we hit the sandbar. |

We tryed the bridge and caught a nice mangrove the only real good pic we actually took was a grouper i caught and saved him from a cuda who wouldnt leave us alone but that was spot we know in the Gulf. I did have a shark eat a yellowtail though a big one! |

lol ^^^ , last time I was down I caught a nice grouper, only I couldn't save him from the big cuda and I ended up with about a 3lb grouper head on the line. Pete or Crazy, you need to post some pic's from down there. This thread is giving me the itch to get down there and do some fishing. |

Nice!!!! great pic's Hook. Man, I'm sick sitting here looking at those pic's. Especially fishing the bridges, me and the old man had some good times, killing time fishing off the bridges. I never caught any real big ones, but the old man caught a 14' hammerhead off of Key Largo once. Last time we were down, I watched a bunch of Tarpon push a huge school of baitfish up against the pillings and feed on them for about 30 minutes, with big sharks hanging out below them. I watched the whole thing from about ten feet above them on the bridge, cool stuff. Fishing wise, I hooked a moray eel and managed to get it to the surface before it broke off, the old man pulled in a ray, I don't think we caught any damn decent fish though. I gotta get down there. |

I heard the Tarpon Were schooling heavy around the 7 mile bridge last weekend feeding on schools of shrimp. |
