Does anyone know of, or have any hook-ups for good ammo prices? I have bought my first AR but need ammo. I have bought some here and there localy, but would like to find a good value on some bulk (500/1000) cases. |

search the net - i lost my links, but i was getting good prices on line btw - you'll heard BULLSHIR about all the ammo going to the sandbox- it's an excuse for state side manufactures to jack up prices even though there is no shortage |

?? there's a definite shortage - many places are out of stock w/no back order. a friend of mine just got his backordered shipment in (from last Nov) a week ago. Online or brick/mortar, everyone's out or 2x last years price. even LAXrange has had trouble, they just received their order last week, been waiting for months. i'm going to see how much they're asking today - i bet it's at least $12/box of 20. when are you gonna come by? |

OK yeah i check those websites out from time to time - all average pricing, i don't have any interest in buying Wolf or similar laquer/crap ammo. ugh. guess i'll buy this case of black hills blue for $350. maybe it'll be worth $750 next year. |

http://www.natchezss.com/ammo.cfm?contentID=ammoGroup&ammoGroup=1&searchBy=size&ammoSize=205 bro! these are very average prices, at best. and that's only what's in stock, which is 1/2 of what's listed. (.223/5.56, at least.) i'm picking up a case tomorrow, private sale; that'll have to do for now. |

http://fieldandstream.blogs.com/gunnut/2007/10/meet-the-r-15.html (And a footnote: Popularity of the .223 seems to have gone into the stratosphere. The Remington ammo guys told me that production of .223 ammo has quadrupled over the past 4 years, and that of every three rounds of centerfire ammo they produce, one is a .223. And very little of that is going to the military. Someone is shooting all them black guns.) |
