What the hell would they have paid Gagne if he wasn't one of the worst pitchers in baseball for the final months of the season? 16 million? |

They collect bad RP's like the Cubs collect shitty middle infielders. |

Speaking of shitty middle infielders, HEF, Chris Burke is on the trading block. You think the Cubs have any interest? lol |

I'm sure Hendry will find a way to get Neifi back before trading for Burke. |

Ouch. Coming out of Bean Town are emails between Theo and a scout confirming that Gagne is a "steroid guy" prior to making the trade for him. The Brewers had to have known too. |

"Coming out of Bean Town are emails between Theo and a scout confirming that Gagne is a "steroid guy" prior to making the trade for him." Those were in the Mitchell report, same thing with Donnelly. |

Yup. Didn't read the same thing about Donnelly likely because I didn't care about him. :) So the Mitchell report says the same thing about Donnelly? |

Yup. Don't know if it was Theo in particular, but there was an email exchange from the Boston front office about Donnelly in the report. Basically an exec asking a scout if there was anything on Donnelly and the scout telling the executive that Donnelly was probably a juicer, and therefore a "likely breakdown candidate" or words to that effect. From before they acquired him. |

I'll take your word for it as I am a little sick of reading the report. :) I find it highly unlikely these gm's don't know conisdering the amount of money they invest in these guys. |

No, it sounds like they (GM's in general) were a lot more in-tune with what's been going on than they tried to lead everybody to believe. Here's a story from up near your neck of the woods with the direct quotes from the report. Not much ambiguity in them, they seemed to have a REAL good idea what these two were up to before they acquired them. http://www.gloucestertimes.com/pusports/local_story_348094017?keyword=secondarystory |
