saw a comment in another thread that made me wonder: Do you think Obama is racist? Yes or no answer is fine. |

Hell yeah, he thinks white people are plain evil, and that's why he figures they'll vote for him if he can appeal to their better nature. Uhm, wait. No. |

There's no way for an OG'r to know. You'd have to ask someone who's known him for say, 20 years. |

No. But I wonder about his wife. -I wonder how many OGers wives have said something racially suspect in the OGer's presence. If the OG'er himself claims not to be racist, would he be racist-by-association by not divorcing his wife? And I'm sure that there have been some comments that have slipped behind closed doors that wouldn't be repeated in public. |

It's my quote and yes. You don't go to a Klan rally and then claim you're just proud of white culture. This guy has been a part of this "church" who's god is skin color for 2 decades. |

I don't think he is racist.. Hell, I don't think he's all that religious either.. It seems that hooking up with the hateful Rev. was a way for him to earn some street cred on the cheap. I do worry that he would be a little too tolerant of reverse racism. I do have serious doubts about his wife though. |

You don't go to a Klan rally and then claim you're just proud of white culture. -you go to a klan rally expecting one thing. there is no "front" or "cover" -- it's right in your face. you go to church for religion, and that's what you expect to be talked about. do you think that obama selected his pastor and his church because he only wanted to talk about hating whitey? |

"Do you think Obama is racist?" pretty hard to believe that a non-racist would marry a racist, have a racist for an advisor, and go to a church where no one is willing to repudiate their racist pastor on camera, the new pastor is standing behind everything the former racist pastor said, etc its entirely possible for Obama to not be a racist, but his weak as hell denials of all these other racist statements by people around him make you wonder For anyone to hear someone else say the US government started AIDS as a way of getting rid of black people and not strongly disagree with them and try to educate them is intellectually dishonest. Apparently the leadership of that church, now and in the past, does believe that, and Obama hasn't done much to try to change their minds And for him to equate what his white grandmother said to what his raving lunatic of a pastor said was on the level of John Edwards promising to make Christopher Reeve walk again. Just a horrible week for Obama all the way around, and the polls show it. |

He is not a racist but he is definately NOT being swiftboated. Have you heard the things that the man who married him, preached to him (20 years or something) and is a personal inspiration to him is saying? How can you know someone for decades and not be aware of these types of convictions. That explanation is completely outside of common sense. |

i actually think "racist" is being tossed around far too frequently. his wife made a comment about not being proud of america in the past.. how does that make her a racist? |

I would not have asked this question on THIS board. If your post isn't about farting or 'Would you hit this' then it's not worth interacting with the fools here, you're asking for the same thing you see in 30 other current threads. I think I'll make a fart thread. |

my friends say and believe shit all the time that i don't agree with. do you all beleive or agree with 100% of what your pastors say every time they speak? have we completely reveiwed every speech, every sermon? some of you christian conservative, anti-obama guys, probably agree with a lot of the shit in the guys sermons. i don't give a shit what religion he, or any candidate is. i think there should be a wall between religion and the governing of this country. i think that most of your pastors and religous speech is total bullshit and nonsense. i don't apply any stricter standard to obama's guy. its funny that we demand our candidates be religous, then attack them when there's something funny about their religous associations. |

"-show me who YOUR friends and I can guarantee that i can find something wrong with all of them." you can't find a friend of mine who's gotten up before a group and told crazy lies about the USA and Jesus "his wife made a comment about not being proud of america in the past.. how does that make her a racist?" i think most people calling his wife a racist are referring to her college papers, not her recent public comments |
