news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070223-bees.html In October Hackenberg had delivered honeybees to a Florida farm to pollinate crops. The bees typically return to their boxed hives when their work is done. But this time was different. "I came to pick up 400 bee colonies and the bees had just flat-out disappeared," Hackenberg said. "There were no dead bees, no bees on the ground, just empty boxes." |

paranoid is thinking scientist will create a gentically engineered bee to go with gentically enginerred crops that will one day turn on mankind. bees are probly disapearing because of all the tinkering with nature... hopefully its just a natural cycle |

'Bees make honey' - there also vital for pollination not surprised by this... the USDA should be more concerned with nutrition of there people and not with who pays them off the most or to push there agenda.. thats why obesity and crazy cancers/ diseases are offing people like never before.. hopefully the strong (smart, smart eaters) will know better. (btw,,, this has to do with gentically altered crops, not just ranting) ttt 4 yellow jackets |

I reed that its cause of the transports. That the bees are being moved around by truckers from place to place to polinate the fields, but really this disrupts there rythims. So after awile the bees dont wantto do the work and they quiet. |

Regardless, I'm not worried. Can't we just "produce" bees in man made environments? Even if they all went extinct, couldn't we find another way to pollinate or another species that will pollinate the plants for us? |

Pesticides kill all bugs, not just 'bad' ones. |
