Crawford's MMA on Metcalf has a ring and a cage in it, and is the home of Rob Kimmons and Curtis Stout. There's also the House of Pain in Lee's Summit (an affiliated school). They're both pretty much MMA-focused schools, not so much straight competition BJJ. I don't think either offers gi training. |

Team K2L in Lee's Summit. Its my school and we offer mma training and like everyone has said, there really aren't any sport specific guys in kc. I've been trying to get Gracie Barra to get some guys up here and that may happen at some point but there aren't any brazilians teaching in their own school up here. Same goes for muay thai. Open market for anyone out there with some skills. Kc guys are good though so you will be tested when you come in, but if you have some serious skills, you'll be rich cause everyone will train at your gym. |

KCBJJ, Victory wrestling/mma, Xtreme Couture or Freds are all great options..... and you could hit them all up depending on your schedule. BTW Pecanha should be back in KC this month at KCBJJ. |

Xtreme Couture isn't an ajj school. Just former ajj fighters training there..... |

Any one just training straight up grappling or jiu jitsu in the area. Dont need a slew of other classes. |

I consider myself sports specific in mma. Striking, integrating Muay Thai, Boxing and clinching. KC is short on specialists. sicarii67@sbcglobal.net |

I know that there are higher ranking guys out there but the jiujitsu guys at http://dragonfamilymartialarts.com are tough guys who train under Dustin "Clean" Denes. They work hard and are super technical and explosive. KCBJJ or Welcome Mat are the other two I would suggest depending on what you are looking for. |

As far as competing in mma, k2l or the Grindhouse has the best training available right now. Their fighters are in the UFC, WEC etc. |
