these would be epically hard to tattoo on some one. |

I would guess they would lose some detail but they are tattoo designs from one of the best in Japan. |

those wouldn't be epically hard to tattoo on anyone if the artist was good enough. the horiyoshi III images were meant to be referenced for tattoos. |

I love those prints. I'm trying to decide what my first piece will be, and Horiyoshi prints are at the top of the list. |

I'm collaging alot of horiyoshi for my chest & ribs. I'm going to do something similar to the above but in full colour. Once my back is finished. Once my back is done I'll post it, a sick samurai themed kakejiku (Japanese style hanging wall scroll). I'm also using horiyoshi referance materials for my right sleeve, koi, dragons, phoenix, I can't wait for that to be finished too. I love Japanese style tattoo art and horiyoshi is a master. |

What is the meaning of the tattoos / what are the characters in it and what are they doing? I'm a tattoo newbie don't understand what it has to do with bjj |

I've seen two Horiyoshi prints where a samurai is grappling with a snake/dragon which would both be really appropriate. Where would you put something like these prints? If I don't want to do a big back or rib piece, could I fit one of these on my shoulder/upper arm? |

I still don't see any relation to jiu jitsu in these pictures |
