oh yea. he is even better than his cousin Ron-- who made the world team, was an NCAA all-American, and 2-term USA Judo prez... you can tell just by his rank-- he was promoted like 3 blackbelt ranks in less than 12 months, possibly even in the same day! he would've won the olympics, except he practices judo and sambo for real, not for the wussy tournaments. |

How the hell is he going to show that shit when he can't even do it himself? The guy cant even tie his own shoes but he is gunna leglock someone? I'm sure on paper, he has many convinced that not only could he pull it off, but he can also beat cancer 3x in the process, but let's be realistic... |

"Mark has sustained serious arm injury many years ago, and he has had other health issues." One major health issue is him being fat as fuck. "Isn't this what an instructor is supposed to do?" No, an Instructor leads the way..He does not ask anything of you that he himself has not, would not or could not do...In so doing, he proves it can be done and makes a believer of you. " That certainly does not mean he has nothing to offer." Very true, he is a an absolute genius when it comes to recognizing and explaining technique, in the realm of martial art history and a plethra of other areas one who has sat over books for the last 30 years would be.....The thing is..If I am going to war, Im going under the instructions of a man who has been there, not some guy who read about it... |

I think guys like Mark seem very impressive if you haven't had the opportunity to actually randori with world class grapplers (judo, wrestling, bjj) and listen to them instruct. But I think that's great that he's lost a lot of weight and glad you get a lot out of his teaching. More power to you. |

The rooster is correct, as always. "What is your REAL problem with him?" I dont like him..I am like 90% of everyone here in that way. |

"Coach Tripp does not have a slick website with cult-like followers who hang on his every word. He does not produce DVD's that make fantastic claims." He used to..It was this forum...But then spartacus raised an army and overthrew his regime!! "I just don't see why you could not simply ignore the post instead making all those personal insults." What fun is that? |

why would you post the clinic here if it isnt okay for us to have fun with it. and, no he is not a legitimate godan. his rank was purchased via the USJA when they were being sold off like hotcakes. trust me when i say this, many of us know the players involved a lot better than you do. im glad you feel his instruction has helped you. personally, i find his claims of having coached national level players to be completely untrue and false, but what do i know??? i mean, i just never once saw any of his players making it past any rounds at any national events that i was at from about 1990 when i was a kid until 2004 when i retired.... oh, or since then either. but, hey, the USJA has their national tournament (its worthless and pretty much no decent players have ever fought in it, but so be it i guess anybody can start an event and call it a nationals-- just like the AAU does) so maybe he once had a player come to his club who was decent enough to medal there and that made him this great coach of national level players.... |

Ha ha, it begins again! lol DennisV is one of Tripps old students and kickboxing instructor. He can give an opinion of Tripp from his experience of being a loyal student to after when he started training in other places. |

I think that every local MMA/grapping student should spend some time at Tripp's place. He coached me to a silver medal at the national AAU judo tournament, finishing second to Chris Heckadon. |

The interesting thing about that is that I was runner up, while Heckadon placed second from last. |

I've heard nothing but bad things about the guy. He didn't seem to show a lot of class when he was posting here. |
