Besides nursing, is there a degree that pretty much assures you will have a job when you finish? |

I've been to business school, not Harvard though. That might be the problem. |

^ HBS is just a graduate level business school. Like most ivy leagues, Harvard doesn't have an undergraduate business program. |

Liyon, I tried a class last year. I think my mind is too far gone plus I forgot all the other stuff from my first 3 accounting classes so many years ago. When I took the class, it was pretty much foreign to me. I've definitely lost a step my friend. |

re: poorly chose majors I graduated with 12 other people with the same degree and license last spring. As far as I know, 3 ended up with jobs in the field, but one was fired shortly thereafter. gusto - accounting as been 100% for our undergrads How many do you guys graduate a year? Good for them though, especially in these times. |

Don't choose a profession simply because it is "safe." Choose one that you will enjoy. |

Depending on the engineering degree it will not guarantee you a job. Civil engineers are unemployed like crazy where I'm at. |

"Don't choose a profession simply because it is "safe." Choose one that you will enjoy." How about out of all the "guaranteed" majors, pick the one you'd like most or the one that will allow you to transition to what you "really" want to do the easiest. Say you want to work in showbiz. You can major in film and be just like thousands of other unemployed wannabees or you can do accounting and work towards getting in the entertainment industry. |

MD, maybe if you're a CPA. Not much else is a guarantee. |

Having a degree doesn't guarantee you a job. Having the right social circle does though. |

Wow, old thread. I'm doing accounting by the way and really liking it. From what I hear though, intermediate ramps up the difficulty quite a bit. |
