Just wondering what everyone plays as their bedroom or practice amp. Just got a Vox DA5 that I have to wait until Xmas to fiddle with :/ |

I have a DA5....nice amp- sometimes my Laney (main) sometimes my Powerblock (grab n go) sometimes my Crate GT1200H (got it for $60 and it's my "leave-at-practice-and-don't-care-if-it-gets-f*cked-up amp) usually, Line 6 toneport UX2 |

I never have ever practiced in 25 years on my electric using an amp. I've always just played it acoustically. That could explain why I never sound as good as I thought I was when I practice because I don't really "hear" what it is actually going to sound like when it comes out of the amp (finger noise, inarticulate picking, etc). I don't recommend it, just what I've done. |

jman - I don't recommend it, just what I've done. That was one of my main motivations lol. I plugged in recently and it was like muted note city in there haha |

Vox DA5 or Vox AD100VT, depending on what room I'm in. Usually the AD100VT because of the footswitch. |

I just got a tiny 10W Marshall for an early Christmas present. It fits nicely under my home office desk with my Digitech Rp7, ready to go. |

Any recommendations on the most quiet yet good sounding amp? I have one of those 1-watt plastic marshall toys and I'm sick of it, but I'd get thrown out if I had something loud (I keep my 30W home stereo down below 1 on the dial). |

I love my Vox AD5. The little thing gets surprisingly loud, but it sounds good turned down too. |

Effects processors plugged into a stereo. Sometimes it's a sweet tube stereo amp and sometimes it's plugged into my car amp which makes for some amazing feedback.........and I can go wherever I want. What's really fun is plugging in a midi sound module and using a small midi keyboard to make live sounds or play and manipulate samples while in traffic. |

Mostly VST amp plugins (Guitar Rig 3, Amplitube 2, Studio Devil etc) through Rifftracker (great software, and free of charge T4 version) Otherwise Cube 30 |

I've got a little Marshall MG15CDR. It gets the job done at a low volume. Lately, I've been just playing my SansAmp into my computer. I have a little Traveler guitar that I play when I'm on the road. I miss the days when I lived out in the country and could play my big amp. My Soldano just sits there, lookin' at me all pitiful. |

I play unplugged electric to practice almost exclusively. My gig rig is a Marshall Silver Jubilee full stack so no so sweet for quiet noodling. If I plug in to practice its a '66 Fender Princeton with a Marshally distortion pedal for gain (I bounce between a Carl Martin Plexitone, Tone Bone PlexiDrive or MI Audio Crunch Box) My practice amp of choice is my Peavey Rage but the input is loose and it crackles like crazy. |
