Yeah, those folks will hopefully either get bored and sell their bikes to someone deserving, ride enough that they catch the bug or just get drunk and crash. I met up with a guy last night that I used to work with. He is getting back into riding and is putting the finishing touches on a '67 triumph tiger bobber. He is also building a '55 bsa. Talking to him he obviously loves bikes, building and riding them. He wanted to get his M endorsement again and there was a huge wait for the DMZ test and the MSF class. So he takes the harley rider's edge class (the MSF with 'harley attitude') so he can skip the test and get his M. He said the class was filled with fat guys in leather vests, bandanas, skullcap helmets and beards of one form or another. When they found out he not only didn't have a harley, but liked british bikes..... Guys were actually fucking with him about 'buying a real bike'. Fucking douchebags, this guy BUILT the bike that he has always wanted. These assholes are buying 20-25k bolt on chrome monstrosities that they'll put 1500 miles a year on going from bar to bar. Fuck them and everyone like them. Sorry for the venom, but its like a guy taking 1 BJJ class a week telling an experienced MMA fighter that he needs to buy more stylish fight trunks, some tapout shirts and work on his biceps a little. |

People think I'm an asshole just because I drive a 1993 Corrolla. When they see that car pull up to a light they think I'm some cocky a-hole or something, but I'm not. I do get a lot of looks in my ride though. I think people are just haters. |

zarek66 - harley davidson riders......nothing more than noise making machines with no power no handleing. equivilant of rice boys.Weird, I grew up in Myrtle Beach and have been riding bikes since I was 6(started on dirt bike!) and Harley Riders as a whole have been some of the nicest group of people I've ever met..most do a lot of charity ride events etc and help out anytime they can. I love cruiser bikes, used to be a sport bike guy until I got a Vulcan 800 classic in 2002, then I stuck mainly with cruisers..even when I rode a Japanese Cruiser(the Vulcan) Harley guys would help out anytime it was needed and we'd hang out at the bars I bounced at. As a whole Harley riders are by far some of the best people around... |
