Cowboys add kicker Connor Hughes to roster. Stats on Hughes: set Virginia records in points (332), field goals made (66), attempted (79), extra points made (134) and extra points attempted (138). His 83.5 percent accuracy rate on field goals was second in school history. Should be interesting to see what he can accomplish in the upcoming year. |

Michael Irvin accused of rape! A civil suit alleging sexual assault has been filed against former Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin. A decision on whether criminal charges will be pursued is pending. The alleged incident occurred in July 2007, a month before he gave a stirring speech upon entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Irvin, through his lawyer, denies the allegations, calling them "totally untrue." The action follows an unsuccessful attempt to negotiate a financial settlement. The woman reportedly wanted $1 million and then dropped her demand to $800,000. For more details: http://www.miamiherald.com/news/breaking-news/story/1463608.html |

What a great legal system. The guy hasn't even been charged with a criminal act, yet she can go and sue him civilly. Fucked up. |

Irvin may be innocent in this situation, but he is definitely guilty of something. |

Jimmy Johnson (former Head Coach of the Cowboys for two championships) said that the team’s weakness is they don't have a multiple wide receiver threat. He said he likes Miles Austin but thinks Roy Williams might be a bust. Any comment on the Roy Williams situation? |

Dallas Cowboys The good: Miles Austin went from role player to Pro Bowl receiver in his first season as a starter. The fourth-year pro filled Terrell Owens' role as the team's big-play threat and finished the season with 1,320 receiving yards. Austin recorded five 100-yard games -- including a 250-yard explosion against the Kansas City Chiefs in his first start -- and finished fourth in the league with 11 receiving touchdowns. The bad: The secondary tallied just 11 interceptions. Though Mike Jenkins picked off five passes on his way to earning a Pro Bowl berth, the unit's inability to create turnovers wasted the efforts of a pass rush that ranked among the top of the league in sacks. The ugly: Roy Williams failed to emerge as the No. 1 receiver, despite being anointed as such before the season. The former Pro Bowl pick finished as the team's third-leading receiver with just 38 catches and produced only one 100-yard game. Where do they go from here? The Cowboys finally shook their postseason malaise to advance to the divisional round, but coach Wade Phillips will be under the gun to have his team make a serious Super Bowl push. With a solid roster in place, Dallas only needs to add a few pieces to climb atop the NFC. - NFL.com |

HEMAN - Cowboys fan...go to the Wade Phillips thread...we have that going on for years. You said it yourself...'Cowboys Fan' (NOT ‘Wade Phillips Fan’) I am not inclined to post to a thread about 'whether Wade Phillips is the right Head Coach for the Cowboys' every time I have Dallas Cowboys stuff to discuss. What does Michael Irvin have to do with Wade Phillips? What about Emmitt Smith or Jay Novacek? I have posted to that thread myself before, and may do so again when I want to discuss Wade Phillips. Wade Phillips is NOT the Dallas Cowboys though. Sorry. Hence the creation of this thread. |

27. Dallas Cowboys Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State DraftNasty Big Board-Tied #4 overall Bryant (pictured above at his Pro Day March 31st) may have to wait awhile on the draft's first day. Dallas once passed on Randy Moss at pick 8 in 1998, but this time pull the trigger on the Lufkin, TX native and potentially best player available left on their board. |

I suspect Jerry chose Bryant to make up for missing taking Randy Moss in the 1998 NFL Draft. I don't think Bryant has such major off-field issues. As a player, he is a stud. Good pick for Dallas! |

2nd round pick is Sean Lee. I guess Dallas is happy with its current OL and Safeties. They won't be picking again until the 4th round (unless the trade up). |

Sean Lee is a good pick. Brookings is in his last year. Sean Lee is a potential starter at ILB. I think the Boys envision a future ILB corp of Jason Williams and Sean Lee. Dallas would have picked up Nate Allen but the damn Beagles grabbed him. Look for some Free Agency at Safety and maybe a developmental OL for the rest of the draft. Maybe a CB. |

Ever since Dallas drafted Dez Bryant, Patrick Crayton started wanting to be traded. My thoughts are that he probably won't generate sufficient interest from any other team that would lead to a high enough draft pick for Dallas to consider the trade. I'm quite sure he will be in Dallas for the foreseeable future. Any thoughts? |

He's under contract...he's stuck. Sorry but I don't feel sorry for him. That bastard DROPPED the pass in 07 against the Giants in the playoffs...it was the most cruicial drop in that game. |

Now that the season has started (thank God!), I'm looking at the Cowboy's reg. season schedule and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I think our toughest games are going to be against Minnesota, Green Bay, Indy and New Orleans. It remains to be seen how good the Giants, Philly and Washington will be this year. |

Evaluating the OLINE is crucial. This line is aging. Against the Bengals we look good in pass protection and run. Oakland? Looked like SHIT. Pressure was on coverage sacks...with the RIGHT SIDE being expose( COLUMBO ). |
