This is getting absurd. lol At least 23 wins this year and a landslide to win the CY Young unless he gets hurt. 4-0 0.82 ERA in 4 games. |

I'm from Toronto and we never should've traded him away. You've gotta be an amazing pitcher to win a Cy Young in the AL East playing against the Yankees and Red Sox all the time. He's gonna destroy NL lineups all season. If he doesn't win another Cy Young I'll be surprised. |

I watched him for years when I lived in Boston, and was the most happy person in philly when they got him. Cliff lee was great though |

Pretty easy to see this comming as he not only moved to the NL East, but he doesnt have to face the Phillies to boot. |

Straight dealin' like he was on the block. For all of the Phils problems this year, he is the ACE that will get them back to and maybe win a WS. Best pitcher in baseball IMO. |

cottonzway - This is getting absurd. lol 0.82 ERA in 4 games? That's cool, but Ubaldo Jimenez has an ERA of 0.88 in over twice as many starts. |

It sucks that he spent 12 years with Toronto (who has had only 1 no hitter in there history) and he never pitched one, yet 11 games into his stint with Philly, he pitches not only a no hitter, but a perfect game. Terrific. The Jays have been no hit a few times and in their 30 plus years have only seen 1 pitcher throw a no hitter for them and he didnt do it at home either. Call me a prick but I am not overly happy that doc threw one. |

Troll or no troll, I move on. lol Halladay, Hamels, and Oswalt in a playoff serious is legit. The Phils are likely to catch the Braves and for sure beat out the Giants for the WC with Utley and Howard to be back int eh nest 2 weeks.. If they don't win this year, I am pretty comfortable with that trio next year. |

Halladay is the best pitcher in the game. If you go by only ERA, sure he might look like he's the best year in and year out, but factor in the other stuff and it's no contest. He's a workhorse and ends up throwing 20-30 innings more than anyone else. He goes almost 8 innings every start and gives the Bullpen a rest. He doubles everyone else when it comes to complete games. He never walks anyone and can get K's when he wants to. His K/BB ratio is almost 8 to 1, which is incredible. The Cy Young race will come down to the wire between Wainwright and Halladay I think and I wouldn't be mad at giving the edge to Wainwright at this point, but I do think Halladay pitching so many more innings than everyone else gets overlooked. I would take someone that puts up a 2.2 ERA that goes 8 innings every game over someone that goes 2.0 ERA over 7 innings each game easily. |
