I am ignorant of the passions of the fans in Europe. Which of these competitions means the most to you, as fans? A) World Cup B) Champions' League C) League championship (EPL, La Liga, Serie A, etc) D) FIFA World Club Cup Also, I'm sure that there are very few people from South America that post here, but what do you suppose their feelings would be? |

I'm not a supporter of a Premier League club but I feel I can answer this. The majority of them would say the Premier League Title. Not many at all would go for the World Cup. I'd say at least 80% of people put club before country, and furthermore you actually get supporters of Premier League teams that want to see England lose, and wish them ill, which pisses me off no end. It mainly seems to be fans of Liverpool and Manchester Utd. At Old Trafford they actually chanted 'Argentina' for Heinze and Tevez when they were Man Utd players, despite our national side having a rather bitter rivalry with the Argies.. World Club Cup means nothing to anyone. Absolutely nothing. |

World cup is above everything, and eclipses all other competitions period... |

World Cup. I've seen my club side achieve as high as they ever will, now I just want to see England succeed. With regards to one of the above points, Man Utd fans often do seem to resent England. I think many feel that it is always their players who are villified whenever England fail (due to perceived jealousy/resentment from other teams). It is a shame that club rivalries pollute the England scene e.g. booing of rival clubs' players, even when in the England shirt. P.S. Gov, I uploaded that video; the link is in the SA thread. |

Also, in the above post, I'm not sympathising with United fans for their viewpoint. Lancashire bastards! |

World Cup - I know my club team (Derby County) will never win any of the other comps. As such the ONLY chance I have of ever supporting the winning team in a big comp is England in teh world cup. |

Premier League, FA Cup or League cup all before the World Cup. Probably even the Championship before the World Cup too. I struggle to get too excited about watching England, whenever there were Newcastle players playing for them (been a while!) I would just hope they would get taken off before they got injured. I think the same goes for a lot of Newcastle and possibly sunderland fans. Most of my mates don't really give a shit about England. Maybe it's because we're only just English! |

I bet Mick would support "Geordieland" with a passion if they entered a team! |
