It looks like it would be a blast on TV. Whenever I have an extra 10k laying around... |

Why do you guys think that amateurs are winning this thing more than the pros? Does a good run of cards matter more than years of experience? |

Its tough to concentrate up there too at times so many distractions when you see people you have known for 15 years who like to party! |

TigerDriver - Some old timer was complaining at the table tonight how on the first day of the main event everyone is just pushing all in constantly. Any truth to this? Not at all IME. The fish are all happy to be playing *THE* biggest poker tournament so everyone takes it seriously for the first few hours and play tight. Only when people start getting tired or lose patience that the fish start getting loose and picking bad spots to make plays. |

However, they have changed the structure in the past couple of years to favor the more skilled players. The past two main event champions have been pros, and I believe there were more pros than amateurs at the last two final tables. |

Honestly the structure is as good as you can possibly get. It's just extremely hard obviously to wade through 8,000 players, and like 7 days of poker without getting unlucky. |

Never played the Main Event...only played the $1000 NL Event about 8 years ago. I lasted about 5 hours. I spent more time driving to Vegas from LA than actually playing poker. Basically took my poker winnings...lost it in this event...and never got back to being a winning player. |

Did you play really tight jman? I'm trying to loosen up and it's tough. |
