Okay, I've decided to keep a thread where you guys can either laugh hysterically at my blowing $40 or enjoy me attempting to grow the money long-term. I opened an account on Bodog (as you all seem to recommend it, and they sponsor this site). They have a 10% deposit bonus going, so I IMMEDIATELY TURNED MY FIRST PROFIT! $40 down became $44.00 to bet with! Yeah, take that ExxonMobil. Anyways, I made my first bet: UFC 112 Paul Buentello vs. Cheik Congo I put $10 down on the Headhunter at +375 to win $37.50 |

I want to put $ on Kimbo/Mitrione, but I'm going to wait and hope the line turns more in Meathead's favor. Right now he's +110, and I'm hoping to get a better return on the money than that. |

Okay, for tonight: After Carwin showed up looking doughy at the weigh-ins, I've decided to lay on UberMir. If he was able to counter Cheik Zaire and drop him, he's going to do the same against Carwin, who will have a shorter reach and be noticeably slower. $6.00 on UberMir at -155 to win $4.00 I wanted to bet on GSP, but the odds are too long, and I ain't dumping my last $22.00 to win $2.96. The guy was a 8:1 favorite over Serra, and look what happened there. Instead, I like Matt Brown over The Big Dog, who is looking like "The Incredible Shrinking Dog." $4.00 on Brown at +130 to win $5.60 |

BTW: Frank Mir and Randy Couture are the only fighters I absolutely loathe. If Mir loses, I will be celebrating the loss of my six bucks. Hopefully I'm a shitty gambler (as appears to be the case) and I've reverse-jinxed him. |

Only one bet for UFC 112: $2 on Demian Maia at +600 to win $12. Do I think Maia will win? No. But at +600, I'm betting. Unlike GSP/Hardy, at least Maia is a legitimate threat, someone with the ability to finish the fight regardless of the scorecards. |

Okay, two more bets for UFC 114, and I will provide my obviously flawed logic to both bets: Michael "Pillowfists" Bisping vs Dan Miller $2 on Dan Miller at +135 to win $2.70 Why? Miller has a granite chin, and Bisping hits like a bitch. Miller can finish Bisping on the ground from the top or the bottom, and although clearly an inferior striker, has more power in his hands (and we saw how that worked out for Hendo). Plus, I fucking hate Michael Bisping. All the good will he had earned with his Princess Bride quote on the show is gone. Diego Sanchez vs John Hathaway $6 on Diego at -200 to win $3 Almost a "gimme" fight for Diego, and I bet this to cover any loss on either of the two above fights. Hopefully I get Diego and either of the two underdogs I bet to turn a profit on the event. |

Okay, that was another mild disaster. Fucking Diego Sanchez. Rule #2 is now: Don't ever bet on guys that take pictures of themselves shirtless, in jeans, hugging other dudes without the slightest evidence of a female present. Anyhoo: For the TUF Finale my account is at a little over $21.00 (lost half so far). I've placed one bet: $8.00 on Matt Hammill at -145 against Keith Jardine to win $5.52. I thought about betting on Jamie Yager just to curse him. |
