Bunch of teenagers recommending teenage kid cars.. EVo and STi for a dude who wants reliablity and gas mileage? You can't even get 20mpg in those, same with the SRT4.. Pick up a TSX.. |

The Persian Devil -Burt Reynoldz -White347LX -Mark1 -Burt Reynoldz - Sti's are nice. With an Accessport and downpipe you can pick up an extra 30-50 hp and a shitload more torque. Stock, the STi puts down 240-260 whp and wtq. With only an AP, downpipe and 100 octane fuel I was able to put down 325 whp and 385 wtq. Insurance, tires, and brakes are pretty expensive though. The VF on the STi isn't very effecient at higher boost because it's a relatively small turbo. Mits uses something like a 16G which is larger that the VF. 500 crank on an awd car translates to about 420-440 whp. Minus out the 80 shot and your talking about 340-360 whp on the dyno. I've only seen those numbers on an evo with stage 2 and boost controller with 25+ psi. |

Stu Cazzo - TSX is on the list too as well as a TL For gas mileage it's gonna be hard to beat Honda/Acura. My Mini Cooper s gets 35 mpg but it could never outlast a Honda. |

On top of that I've been hit twice now by somebody doing 35-40 while I was stopped. Both times were in a Honda built car and both times I walked away without a scratch. That factors in for me too as well the fact that I've never had a problem with any of them. |

"yeah they are reliable.." My SRT-4 made many trips to the dealer, I can't agree that they are reliable. They're also cheap as shit inside. Still probably the best deal for a cheap 'go fast' turbo'd 4. |

wheeels - "yeah they are reliable.." The Cobalt SS is another quick, cheap pile of shit too. Mazdaspeed 3 is a small step up from these two. |

If we are gonna talk about reliability, we need to stop including turbo subarus. They are piss poor.

You have to be a fuckass to come to a conclusion like that. Those cars are brilliantly engineered and 17 year old kids can't come close to affording those.....not to mention they're actually fun to drive - Stick to your Crown Vic - I prefer something that geezers don't drive - |

I find it amusing that someone said 17 year old kids are the ones that talk highly about Evo's. MSRP: $33,590 - $40,990 I don't know about you, but all I could afford when I was 17 was an old Honda civic worth 2,000. They are made very well and are quite impressive machines. I don't own one, but for the money, they can keep up with much more expensive sports cars. |

^^ That's why it's 17 year old kids buying them with 100k miles on them after some adult bought it and sold it.. Find a stock Evo. I dare you. Those cars are pieces of shit anyways. The day I spend $40k on a new Evo with that fucking chintsy ass plastic interior is the day I hack my dong off.. |

Free Ballin -Stu Cazzo - 17? Who the fuck is this cocksucker? If you ever actually step foot on a race track on open track days you would see a ton of STi's and EVO's and they're not driven by 17 year old kids. It's because these are about the cheapest cars to be competitive on a track without having to do much more than upgrading brakes, tires and a little suspension. |

Burt Reynoldz -Mark1 - If we are gonna talk about reliability, we need to stop including turbo subarus. They are piss poor. Mark The Subaru turbos aren't really high boost cars. 210-227hp from a turbo 2.5L isn't all that much. Yet, they blow through turbos like nothing. Its due to the shitty oil line/banjo bolt screen design, not due to high boost. Mark |

Mark <img style="vertical-align: middle" alt="Phone Post" border="0" src="/images/phone/post_tag.png" /> You're retarded. 227hp was the number 2 years ago for the wrx. Fast forward to today and the wrx makes 265 on the 2.5 and the sti makes 290. To do that on a 2.5L takes at least 10-11 psi and on the sti takes 14.7 psi. All high boost situations. way to go. Burt |

Sigh. The guy is looking for a used car under 18k. That is why I quoted those numbers High boost has nothing to do with it. Subie turbos get fried because of a shitty design and it's resulting poor oil flow. Third, Subie actually issued a stop sale order for 09 turbos while they addressed the issues.

Burt Reynoldz - I managed to dyno these numbers on a stock Evo 1 from 1992 with stage 1 kit + a 80hp shot. check out my brothers old car from a couple of years back.....4 cylinder evo running low 10's on the 1/4 mile with a blown turbo and no traction. He owns his own tune shop in Dubai these days. |
