Hillbilly -whaledog - Martin 0028-ec I would take a shit in the Sound Hole of my Yamaha. Then I would use another turd, this one frozen and crafted like a spoon, to eat the other turd. For a top of the line Martin. |

![]() I think maybe this one. It took a long time to match up just the right pickups to get the balance I wanted. Alder body, Maple and Brazilian Rosewood neck. I know the pickguard and knobs are a bit flash, but I like it. |

I'm still looking for the acoustic guitar of my dreams, maybe a Martin Keb Mo signature. Stunning tone from the one I work on for a local studio.![]() |

I durn near bought an HD-28 when I was shopping for guitars.. At the time I was playing lots of bluegrass and it just didn`t have the "Bark" of a D-18.. The D18`s are louder imo, But I do wish I would have went with a D-18GE.. |

The D18 GE has forward shifted braces and is more to specs of the pre-wars.. One of the best Martin makes for us regular players..lol The HD-28 just isn`t my thing.. I`ve played a mess of them..Rosewood has more complex tones than `hog imo.. Great for singer songwriters.. If could afford it I would get a Martin "D18 Authentic"..But man they are proud of them.. Janet Davis has great info on everything Martin.. http://www.janetdavismusic.com/martin_d18_authentic.html |

Hmmm...each one has it's own sound and personality. But one of my faves is a Washburn X-series I got for 230 bucks brand new. I was going to retrofit one of my other guitars with a whammy bar, but I found the Washburn-bar and all- for the price of a Floyd Rose, so I took a chance. The thing plays great and I CAN'T knock it out of tune. My only complaint is the stock pickups, but a swap-out can change that. |

Hillbilly - What kind of humbucker is that neck pickup whaledog? Duncan '59. I sold my other Tele to get this. It's a Fender Special Run '52 Reissue Thinskin w/Humbcuker, and it's totally stock except for Rutters compensated saddles. Fender made these for a couple of their high volume shops (Dave, Wildwoods & one other): Model Name: FSR Limited Edition American Vintage ‘52 Telecaster® Rutters saddles:
