He should be suspended one year and cut by the UFC. |

carcaju - Definite respect for owning up to it. I will remain a fan and support you on your return. This situation will reveal an interesting double standard. Bisping fucked up and then came clean, but people are proclaiming never to be a fan again. Thiago fucks up and comes clean and those same Bisping haters are willing to forgive and forget and continue to support. At least own your opinions and don't try to hide behind some made up moral high ground. |

Edokaz248 -Karo is addicted to painkillers, he's got a problem that has wrecked his career.jjj2121 -Edokaz248 - lol what a bunch of ass kissers Sonnen's saga was comical. Silva had rumors floating around, denied, got popped, and owned up to it. Doesn't make it alright, but he handled it better than most. Sean Sherk still insists CA fucked him. Josh Barnett has been popped 3x and doesn't say a word. |

What was the illegal substance he injected? I can respect the fact he's owning up to it. I just wonder if he still would've had he not been so caught.

andrewwarner - Far too much respect for a cheater. Let's not forget he used roid strength to drum another fighters butt while delivering a beating. I think that I can speak for most of us when I say that I repsect that he came clean and owned up to his mistake. I do not respect that he broke the rules. He is ready for his punishment, and I hope, like most of us do, that it fit the crime. |

Much RESPECT for telling the truth. So many people just deny, deny, deny. Thanks for not disrespecting us by making up bullshit. |

I have no way of knowing about thiago's situation, but the day an athlete gets busted and admits he took something illegal for the purpose of enhancing his performance is the day my ex will admit she's wrong about something... even mark macguire said his steroid use was to treat injury and not enhance his performance... these "admissions" are more predictable than the test results... |

kanodogg - Honesty is NOT the best policy. Remember Hermes/Sherk? Hermes admitted it like a man and served full suspension, Sherk denies denies denies and gets suspension cut in half. History has shown that if you object to the results/claim it was some mistake in testing you get sentence cut in half. Props to Silva for maning up, but the commission is gonna throw the book at him. If I recall I believe the Sherk's reason for testing positive was because his sponsored energy drink had traces of the drug he tested positive for in it (can't remember the name but you can google the article). When he presented that evidence, they tested the drinks, and they did in fact have that same drug in it and it was banned and his sentence reduced as a result. He proved that it was the drink and still got penalized for it after they saw he told the truth...so you're right, in some cases the truth is NOT does not produce the best outcome. |

The only type of injections I have seen for back injuries are cortisone shots. Are those banned by the NSAC? |

I seriously don't understand this at all. I must be a hater but I don't see giving respect to someone who cheated, simply because when they were caught redhanded they confessed. He saying a few weeks ago that his urine was clean and that everything would be sorted out. yet another lie. You don't get respect for admitting you cheated, you get respect for not cheating. |

He just gained me as a fan, because he admitted to his wrong doing-i now forgive him. Unlike these other fighters who get busted and they just deny it over and over again. |

Excellent statement. After you face the punishment, you'll be back & you can come back with a much greater level of respect than others that have broken the rules. |

After reading the "confession" and the first few pages of mad respect posts, i was a little confused. Glad that by time i got to page 3 some people started making more sense. This guy looked jacked to the gills in the cage and then after the fight, issues come up about his drug test. They interview him and he denies anything is wrong with his tests and he is clean. Then the news is released that he submitted non human urine. Suddenly, honest abe comes out and makes a confession of his guilt and everyone becomes a fan? First of all, HE is on video denying he cheated, but now there is an internet post, most likely written by a PUBLICIST asmitting he cheated, but only to recover from a back injury so he could feed his family. Suddenly, the man who lies, can be taken at his word and we are all supposed to cheer him. If he hadnt gotten busted, would he have come forward? Hell no. I am the opposite of most of you. I was a Thiago Silva fan, but scrambling Vera's face while using PEDs just lost me. |

im a fan of thiago but him getting credit for owning up is ridiculous. he didnt own up until after nsac said his urine was inconsistant with human urine, how else was he gonna go about it keep denying. and im not buying the injury bug is the reason because he looked more chizzeled in that fight than i have seen him in the past, i noticed that at the weighing |

Still a cheater. Doesn't deserve any respect. I respect the guys that don't cheat and lie. |
