I'm optimistic about the team despite an unproven catcher, inconsistent infield outside of Miggy, and 2/3 of an outfield. That, the bullpen question marks and the notoriously slow-starting rotation. Amiwrong? |

Hmmm, maybe I should have started this on the OG. |

The are a good team. If they stay healthy they have a chance of doing real well. |

The Pete - I'm optimistic about the team despite an unproven catcher, inconsistent infield outside of Miggy, and 2/3 of an outfield. That, the bullpen question marks and the notoriously slow-starting rotation.Avila is still a baby. Maybe platooning with VMart will help his development. I am more than happy with Rhymes at 2B. He hit .300 last year, smashed lefties, and continued that this spring. I don't see that falling off much. If Peralta doesn't pick it up, Worth is waiting in the wings. And Inge is consistant. Consistantly bad at the plate. But, he is a monster in the field. As far as the outfield is concerned, don't be surprised if you see Dirks at one of the corners later this year. JV seems to have had a terrific spring, Scherzer... not so much. Again, don't be surprised to see Oliver and/or Turner on the mound later in the season. Plus, there is hardly a better setup and closer combo than Beniot and Papa Grande. Of course, everyone looks like a superstar in the spring. lol Mark |

Think Boesch will have the same start as he did last year? He had a great spring.

Verlander worries me. He's real good but for a number 1 starter he seems to have a lot of "off" games. |

Verlander will be solid this year, he was on all spring instead of his usual slow start. I don't think Boesch will get enough playing time to be a factor, but who knows? |

Win today vs. Texas, plus Josh Hamilton knocked out with a broken arm. You're welcome, AL West. |

It's early in the year but it's a big west coast trip for the Tigers. |
