Like him or not, he makes a valid point. Why would someone have low testosterone levels? People who know the effects of steroids know what I'm talking about. Hendo isn't a cheater because his levels are in normal range. Sonnen and Marquart on the other hand got in trouble for a reason

Prolonged weight cutting especially when one starts at an early age can result in low test levels. A lot of guys who wreslted through college have low test issues.. constantly cutting weight like that wrecks your test production. |

lol @ people saying "low test isn't only a result of steroids in the past !!" these are elite level sportsman competing in combat sports , extensive amateur backgrounds in boxing and wrestling etc , they are not decrepit guys with naturally testosterone deficiencies , if they were , they wouldn't be fighting in the first place . you get test and steroids from external sources and your body stops producing it naturally, simple as that . why would super fit high level athletes that train everyday suddenly need test therapy ?? get a grip . The Count is bang on the money .

The way that TRT can be exploited is seriously cheating the system, they can keep extremely elevated test levels throughout their camp, which is when it most beneficial then bring it down to borderline high levels just before the fight and they get cleared. The only solution other than a straight up ban is much tougher regulation, it should only be administered by doctors authorized only by the state athletic commission and they should have regular weekly checks for their test levels leading up to a fight. Another problem is what do they consider the limit for testosterone levels? I assume it is the level that it would be for any athlete, whether they are on TRT or not and this is another problem. If any other athlete tested near the top of that range then that is likely unnatural, elevated levels, as the limit is probably used to know if people are on PED's but they have to have a bit of give for freaks of nature and not to accuse clean athletes. If someone is on TRT on the other hand they are probably cleared because it's legal and that's it. If an athlete is on TRT they should have a lower limit for testosterone levels which should be the average of say an active 30 year old, then they wouldn't be top of the limit, high as legal can be on testosterone levels, they would be averaging as the same as anyone else. Under the current system, it isn't just people with low test levels who could benefit from TRT, everyone could, and makes it performance enhancing and a problem. |

Suddenly he's Captain Fair? I'd rather have my opponent using TRT than take a free power shot knee to my BRAIN, then spit at my team behind the safety of a fence. If he's on the good side of an unfair advantage, he'll defend his position. If he's at a disadvantage, he's outraged. His opinion would be valid for some fighters, in certain situations, but for him to make a blanket statement like that is pretty lame.
