NBC is nationally televising the U.S. v. Ireland match on Sunday afternoon. I think this is a first for American television. I don't recall a national network ever carrying a World Cup match. That's the good news. The bad news is the game is being carried opposite two NFL games, so literally no one will watch the rugby match. As far as I can tell, this match is the only World Cup match being carried in America. |

They should at least have a game of the week or something. A half hour highlights package would be better than nothing. |

I took the plunge and ordered the live PPV tonight. No spoilers here, but I will say that the US is certainly holding their own against Ireland on the pitch so far. |
