It's true. Played for about a half hour...won't be able to really give it time until after the wife goes to bed. Love it so far.

Start summoning players to help as soon as you can. It's vital in your first run. Pay attention to where the other players go and how they approach enemies. Make sure your wife is asleep, so she doesn't see your beta behaviour as you hold your head in your hands after dying for the sixteenth straight time. |

So I take it I should drop the sixty bucks and reup my xbox live, huh? Kid at gamestop was shocked when I asked for a copy of the 360 version. Thought it was cool that someone who'd never played the original was buying the sequel.

As for jumping without having played Demon's Souls? That's a challenge and a half friend. Demon's Souls has been described as "cruel", and Dark Souls is suppose to be even more punishing. Another vital tip: unless something is chasing you, do not run. At all. You will either fall off a cliff or stumble into a one hit kill. |

The real meat of Demon's Souls (and I can assume Dark Souls, seeing as it uses the same game engine, with tweaks) is the combat and atmosphere. When you start to roll with it, few games are as solid or rewarding. |

What appeals to you more: playing a shorter, less open world Borderlands, or playing Ocarina of Time with one hand? (That sounds really pessimistic, but I'm not hating. Just go with it.) |

Evadmils - Goin to pick up rage after work but demons souls is also enticing me.Rage seem like the same 'ol same 'ol if you ask me. I remember reading about it last year in GameInformer and thinking "what's all the fuss about". First person, post apocalyptic, open world RPG....never played one those before... But, jerkiness aside, let me know how it plays when you get your hands on it.

I'm lookin for somethin to hold me over til skyrim. I'm into rpg's far more than fps. My only concern is that I don't have all that much time to play and don't think ill have enough time to finish DS thoroughly before skyrim. And I plan on skyrim takin me through the winter.

If you like RPGs you should definitely give Dark Souls a try. It's the sequel to one of the best (critically acclaimed, not just by me) RPGs this gen. |

More I read about this game the more enticing it sounds. I haven't played the first one though. This game just sounds too good to pass up. |

Killed the first boss after dying only four times...felt like an accomplishment to me. Got real bold after that and got killed several time by those pesky animated skeletons.

Is there a lot of having to get the gear and whatever else you accumulated over time over again when you die? I heard that the save points were fairly spaced out? |

supersaiyan -This. But absolutely a full fledged RPG...though not dialogue heavy like Mass Effect or even the Final Fantasy series. It's not a choose your own adventure as much as a huge world that simply wants you dead.El_Clap - Wait, is this an RPG like oblivion style or is it a slasher game like ninja gaiden?
