Congrats on beating the Yankee's retarded little brothers' retarded little brother in Tampa, texas, but you gonna get raped by the Tigers! The only team with a chance to stop this power house is in the NL. Go Detroit! |

been saying this for a long time, it's only appropriate i bring it back up for my own selfish reasons:adjust - and my favorite utility player, donny kelly, is turning into the player i always thought he could be if he was given enough at bats. i managed to luck into a ticket behind the dugout for game three at home. unreal. the way the press talk about the energy that night is grossly understated. |

Game 5 was one of the best baseball games I have ever watched. The tension was crazy the entire game. Verlander puts Detroit up 1-0 over Texas tonight. |

Jeeeezus, when is Leyland going to learn you don't pitch Valverde in non-save situations, especially in the playoffs. |

I just can't give up on them while they still have JV going tomorrow and then Max and Dougie down in our country's armpit. I'd love to see Alex get a day off but they can't afford that now. |

I almost cringe watching young, v mart and avila swing. Wouldn't it be nice to have a healthy Boesch, young, Maggs, v mart and Avila in the lineup? Mark

2 bombs out of an injured DY and one out of Avila. Nice. Mark

Ideally Boesch would be in there playing right field and even Guillen to play second. Avila just can't get any rest because I don't think they'd try to get away with having Santos catch. Good win tonight and a day off to get a little rest. Go Tigers! |

Well, all good things must come to an end, like they do for 29 of 30 teams. I'm proud of this team, picked by most to finish 3rd in their own division, for playing as hard as they did and going as far as they did. I'd like to thank my fellow Tigers supporters as well, and Mark if you can find a way to send me a Tiger Towel I'd greatly appreciate it. Please PM me and I can send you the details. I'm signing off of this thread, but will see you again next February when pitchers and catchers report. Bless you boys. Pete |

Good series and good season. It's kinda sad that they just got so beat up at the end. A healthy Boesch, Young, V Mart and Avila would have given them a much better chance. Oh well. On to the lions and Wings. Mark

Like a friend of mine said to me at a wedding last night- We didn't get the ending we wanted, but we got to seen triple crown winner, a Cy young season, a no hitter, 2 legit MVP caliber players, a AL batting title, 49/49 closer, and a 9 position player. Every time Verlander took the mound, you felt like you could see something special that night. Mark

Lol. Take it easy. I didn't say anything negative about the Rangers. Just looking back on a season that far exceeded everyone's expectations and wrapping up a thread that we've been following all season. Mark
