Juijitsuboxer - "I am sorry I ever made them." - God do you really think God was surprised at what happened Juijitsuboxer? The God of the 20th and 21st century (to borrow heavily from A.W. Pink's the Sovereignty of God), is a helpless, effeminate being who commands the respect of no really thoughtful man and to argue he is "trying His best" to save all mankind, but that the majority of men will not let Him save them, is to insist that the will of the Creator is impotent, and that the will of the creature is omnipotent. To declare that the Creator's original plan has been frustrated by sin, is to dethrone God. To suggest that God was taken by surprise in Eden and that He is now attempting to remedy an unforeseen calamity, is to degrade the Most High to the level of a finite, erring mortal. In a word, to deny the Sovereignty of God is to enter upon a path which, if followed to its logical terminus, is to arrive at blank atheism. |

gord96 -Juijitsuboxer - "I am sorry I ever made them." - God Hey Gord, do you think this supports Universalism or predestination or perhaps both? |

rev, Driscoll doesn't believe in limited atonement. Interesting book out there making the rounds called "Ten Myths About Calvinism". The author makes the argument (along with Driscoll) that even Calvin wouldn't be confined within TULIP. I think God is no more love than justice than mercy than wrath. Not sure completely how all of that works together, but the word says He is all those things. |

TULIP isn't Calvinism. TULIP is contained "winthin" Calvinism. Calvinism is so much more than TULIP. |

The point I was trying to make was that Calvin wouldn't even subscribe to the 5 points. |

The word says repeatedly that if you see Jesus, the incarnate Christ, you have seen God. Says it from every conceivable angle, and that picture says that even those that hate, and violently oppose God, are loved, forgiven and shown mercy when the nails are driven in rev |

Says it from every conceivable angle, and that picture says that even those that hate, and violently oppose God, are loved, forgiven and shown mercy when the nails are driven in Correct. That's what Romans 1 says too. In our natural state we were "haters of God". |
