I don't get why people hoard precious metals. I'd rather have a pack of new socks.
I can see trading bullets, knives, tools, etc...

I'd rather have a pack of dry socks than a Diamond. I'd be more apt to trade my food for a knife than some Gold.

I put value in Guns, Ammo, Archery items, knives, good pair of boots, dry socks, Toilet paper....
