Punk is going to attempt a ridiculous combat-sports double on the last weekend in January, coaching his prized MT pupil Chael Sonnen on Saturday followed by defending his WWE Title against the crafty Dolph Ziggler on Sunday. It would truly be one for the record books if he is successful.

Sadyv - I've seen interviews with that guy, he seems like a cool and nice person.

You can't really judge someone skills or lack of by critiquing their pro wrestling matches.

Rob Van Dam and Ernest Miller, both guys who legit training and competition behind them, especially in Miller's case, threw some of the lamest and most fake looking kicks and punches in pro wrestling during their day.

To be fair, Ernest Miller only trained a few months at the WCW powerplant before they put him on TV. CM Punk on the other hand, started as a backyard wrestler. And most of the time it's easy to tell which wrestler came from a martial arts background from the way they move around in the ring. Ernest Miller, RVD, X-Pac, Savio Vega (to name a few) all threw their kicks with textbook technique, balance, speed and agility.

Like I said, I dare anyone to watch a Cm Punk match without laughing at his "muay thai" skills. Dude also has that green, unathletic demeanor in the ring that is just so incredibly painful to watch. I can honestly say that he's one of the many reasons I don't watch wrestling anymore. Can you spell overrated? Phone Post

WWE Champion CM Punk to Escort Chael Sonnen to Octagon Prior to FOX Fight

The "best in the world" will team up with the "undefeated and undisputed UFC middleweight champion" on Jan. 28 at the United Center in Chicago.

World Wrestling Entertainment champion CM Punk will escort Chael Sonnen to the cage prior to Sonnen's fight against Mark Munoz live on FOX, according to sources close to Sonnen's camp. When reached for a comment, both Sonnen and Punk, a proud native of Chicago, as well as a long-time MMA fan, would not confirm the story, which was first reported by MMA.tv poster FrontRowBrian Tuesday night.

It’s fair to say Chael Sonnen is pulling out all the stops for his UFC on Fox 2 fight against Mark Munoz, even welcoming a special guest for his walkout.

WWE superstar and current WWE champion C.M. Punk will accompany Sonnen to the cage on Jan 28 when he fights Munoz in Chicago.

The news was first reported on Twitter by FrontRowBrian, who stated that Punk would be alongside Sonnen for the fight in Chicago.
