Rashad has beaten a very good fighter tonight. He's looked very good, but not great. Jon Jones has looked great, and that's why Evans is the second best LHW in the world.

EvilMaster - Davis looked like a pretty good amateur taking on a pro. He's just not on Rashad's level. Not even close. I think it was obvious from the matchmaking Davis was too green for this fight. But I think that Davis deserves to be in there and did a great job against Rashad. Better then many pros have done against Rashad. Thus I think your comment is shit. |

RocketsRedglare - I guess Phil is great against guys 50 pounds lighter. This is a diaster of a show for the purpose of being on network TV.??  The purpose of being on network tv is to go mainstream and expand the fan base exponentially. This is not going to do it. 3 boring decisions with no damage. |

The biggest positive from this fight us that it doesn't look like Evans is hurt at all so he and JBJ can have as good a camp and fight as possible.

^ yet rampage was able to do something during the fight. davis didn't and he had an extra 2 rounds over rampage. davis is going to improve but he's not ready to fight top 5 guys until he improves his striking so he can set up his takedowns better. |

ya, rashad was scared of rampage's striking so he had to take it to the ground. And rashad couldn't even touch machida, so most likely he's going to try to take jones down but probably get fuked up on the way cuz jones took care of both rampage and machida's strike without a problem... |

Both these fighters are evasive wrestleboxers this fight was never going to be exciting. You have Davis on one side using his reach advantage to keep Rashad at bay and you have Rashad who was staying miles away anyway because thats his style. I'm not bashing but that 5th round was hard to watch. Nothing I hate more than fighters just seeing out a decision loss throwing high kicks and superman punches at thin air. You would never see the likes of Shogun or Wand accepting defeat like that but Davis is young. |

Rashads ability to close the distance was very good even landing more jabs while both were trading them. He powers out and explodes through transitions for dominant positions and honestly outworked him almost every min of the fight. His striking while dropping to stuff strikes looked very sharp. I think he could have got the ko but fought safe to make sure he got to jones. Also it was good to see him checking all those kicks to protect his knee. Jones vs evans is gonna be a fun fight.
