There are a few threads on the OG about cigars, but Ive been reading a bit here and I think this is the better spot for this thread.

Got to talking to Serge about cigars and I am having a heck of a time learning about them.

So here is where Im at with them. Bought an Acid Blondie last night for my first. Didnt care for it. Had a funny taste. Its smelled great, but I didnt like the taste. It was like a Swisher Sweet to me.

Today when I went to a real cigar bar, I had the kid so I just grabbed one and left. Padron 2000. He recommended a bunch of others but I settled on this one.

Basically Im looking for a really good primer or a 101 on cigars to help me along.

Any suggestions? Sites to check other than this one?

Acids are infused cigars. Thats why they taste like swishers.

There are tons of sites out there for beginner smokers. Just google cigars 101 or something like that.

Cigar smoking is very subjective. Just buy a few 5ers or singles and find out what you like.

Def be mindful of countries of origin and wrapper leafs. Nearly nothing is set in stone as far as flavours, but try 5 cigars, 1 of each wrapper leaf. Connecticut, Sumatra, Cameroon, Corojo and maduro. Fuck it, try an oscuro, habano and whatever else you can find. But remember which of those you like. It's a good start.

Obv the filler and binder will make a world of difference, but wrapper leaves are a great starting point as to what you will gravitate towards.
