was sent a 'gracie ufc breakdown' video the other day. noticed that ralek gracie has become a 2nd degree 'overnight'. out of curiosity, is this a normal gracie practice? can you skip degrees if you are a gracie? i was under the impression regardless how long it takes to get to black belt, degrees are governed by the years after and they can't be 'given' otherwise. am i missing something? at the rate he is going he will be a red belt by 40. |

I believe it was it was an honorary grading following the release of his music video - "G In a Gi" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B_hck0pE98 |

Has been stated before that rorians side pretty much does what they want with regards to degrees That's why I think the ibjjf trying to regulate and creating some type of uniformity is a good thing. At least there's a blueprint to work from and not making it up on the fly |

i stand corrected. he is a 3rd degree black belt. not bad considering he was a brown belt 3 years ago. |
