to be honest, i dont really remember the comic. I just remember the thought of Wolverine mounting Spider-man being bullshit. i do recall spidey punching the fuck out of wolverine several times. |

There's some justified bad strategy from an inexperienced, intimidated Spider-Man, but it was bad writing for Spidey to let himself be tackled, thinking that drawing Wolverine in close would be an advantage. He was already in close grounding and pounding Wolverine, but decided to basically pull mount. For his part, Wolverine could've killed Spidey but instead took it easy and just punched him. I still love that comic though. POW! Right in the kisser. POW! Right in the kisser. I agree with Spidey's power set being underwritten, but how is Wolverine's overwritten? One has plot dependent defense and the other has plot dependent offense. |

That spidey vs wolverine fight and whole comic where pretty crappy. I remember it ended with Spidey walking away being done fighting and wolverine's ex-girlfriend coming up behind spidey and puts a hand on his shoulder so spidey, thinking it was wolverine, turned around and punched her in the face full strength killing her. WTF? Only cool moment I remember from that fight was spidey punching wolverine's head so hard that it broke the tombstone behind his head. |

MarkRobinson - to be honest, i dont really remember the comic. I just remember the thought of Wolverine mounting Spider-man being bullshit. Spidey let him get the tackle and mount to draw him in. Spider-Man Vs Wolverine: High Tide |

MarkRobinson - Thanks DA. Not sure how I missed that post the first time around. It's cannon, but has never been referred to except for a what if story that most people missed and don't remember because it was pretty forgettable. |

MarkRobinson - Dr Strange has fluctuated quite a bit but hes beat Moondragon (while she had the mind gem) in telepathic battle. emma or xaiver wouldnt be that big of a deal if he still has that type of ability. Doc Strange beat Moondragon back when he was still sorceror supreme. Currently he isn't the sorceror supreme, is much weaker and at his lowest point that I ever remember. Without the Eye of Agomatto, which powered up his psychic abilities, he wouldn't stand a chance. And people forget to mention that even though Moondragon had the mind gem, Adam Warlock had put some lock on it preventing her from tapping into it's full power. I think most people read online that Strange beat her with the mind gem, but didn't actually read the comic or know the details behind that matchup. Prof X and Emma would have their way with the current Doc Strange. Doc has no spells to block psychic abilities that I know of. The Eye of Agomatto is what used to take care of that for him. |

Well golly darn hologram beanie! The only avenger with psychic defense is stark then? Even his has only been written occasionally, to the point that we don't even know if it's in his regular armor load out. Cripes. |

Someone is going to die in this arc. Id put my money on either Cyclops, Hope, Iron Fist or The Protector. Iron Fist is supposed to have some kind of connection to the pheonix force. I wouldnt be surprised if he sacrificed himself to save Hopes stupid ass. |

I must be the only person who liked that Wolverine vs Spider Man comic. I thought the characters were well written in it. Given the context, Spider Man killing the girl made sense. he was exhausted, and had no reason to think anyone BUT Wolverine was going to attack him. Charlie was a smart chick and dangerous enough to actually hurt him... his Spider Sense is just a buzz, it doesn't tell him what's coming. The only thing I didn't like was Ned Leeds going out like a bitch, since he was the goddamn Hobgoblin at the time, but wasn't that retconned away later? |

JoeHurley - Rogue maybe, even though the writers COULD fudge that... she's had trouble before with other power leacher/stealer types canceling her abilities or shorting her out. Emma? Maybe if Rulk lacks green Hulk's immunity to psychic silliness (I guess he does, not sure if that has come up). |

I don't remember that, but she and Scrambler (the Marauder) knocked each other out when they tried to use their powers on each other. |

Hope is being written as an X-Man should be... rebellious. Thanks for posting these. Not a bad arc so far! |

I don't mind Hope either, but her powerset is a little too open-ended right now for my liking |

I don't think Cap did everything he could to avoid that fight. |

Dead Again - I don't think Cap did everything he could to avoid that fight. He knew full well from the moment he stepped foot on Utopia that the only outcome would be a fight, what I don't think he realises is that it's a fight he cannot actually win, even if he could (and that's a BIG if) take the rest of the X-Men, Hope has shown the ability to tap the Phoenix force and could drop the entire avengers roster at will. |

Great plan, jump out in one big cluster right in front of Cyclop's eyes. |

johnnypayne -Dead Again - I don't think Cap did everything he could to avoid that fight. Good point. What is the plan? Take Hope and then what? That doesn't stop the problem and there's still a 1/2 dozen x-men who have been hosts in the past or have channeled the Phoenix force in the past. |

paw - Good point. I'm guessing they want to take her off planet in the hopes that the Phoenix will destroy someplace other than Earth? I don't really know where off planet they plan to take her. |
